Jo Lander’s interest in glass started with lead lighting but soon turned to fusing and slumping as more elegant and versatile techniques. She has taken numerous classes with Kate Baker and is especially interested in blocks and open face casting. She is hoping to fire up her own kiln early next year. Professionally, her entire working life has been spent in education, including teaching English to migrants, managing face-to-face and online postgraduate courses and teaching academic writing. She is hoping to bring to her role on the Board her experience on committees and with conference organisation. Jo is a long-time scuba diver (tropical waters only these days!) and occasional urban sketcher and printmaker.
