2027 conference

Making Space is a theme that explores how we create, hold, and transform spaces for glass practice. It will invite attendees to consider space not only as a physical site, but as a social and conceptual framework for new possibilities.

This conference will take place in Sydney in February in 2027, bringing together a diverse community to share ideas, processes, and practices.

Applications are now open for the 2027 conference, if you have research you’d like to present to the community or glassmaking skills you want to demonstrate, we want to hear from you! We’re especially interested in proposals that share knowledge, process, and experimentation, and that contribute to the spirit of Making Space through practice, dialogue, and exchange.

We invite individuals, duos and collectives to apply. Submit your interest to conference@ausglass.org with a brief resume or bio (1-2 page) and a short pitch outlining your proposed presentation or demonstration. Tell us about your ideas, approach, and what you’d like to share whether it’s research insights, material processes, or experimental techniques. Also tell us how it connects to the theme Making Space.

More details will be announced soon stay tuned.
