Exhibitions at our conferences
We are proud to announce that we will again be having a conference exhibition for members and non-members glass work, incorporating works entered in the Vicki Torr Prize with categories for both established and emerging artists.
Click on the button below to enter the show and Vicki Torr Prize, where you will also find details of where to send your work, or you may wish to consider bringing a smaller piece with you to deliver in person prior to the conference.
Please get your entries in as soon as possible to assist with preparations!
There will also be an exhibition featuring the work of Tasmanian Indigenous artists Lola Greeno and Nannette Shaw alongside works in glass by keynote presenter Andrea Spencer in The Poatina Tree Art Gallery.
And don’t fret - the usual AUSGLASS FUNDRAISING AUCTION is happening too! You can either bring or send a piece for the exhibition, that then goes into the auction if unsold, or a piece for each - the exhibition and the auction. The choice is yours!
Auction donation forms will be available at the conference to fill in on arrival or you may indicate on the exhibition application form below.
Vicki Torr Memorial Prize
The Vicki Torr Memorial Fund - which underwrites the Prize - was established in 1993 as a memorial to Australian glass artist Vicki Torr (1949-1992). Its purpose is to reflect Vicki’s life and work by encouraging excellence in Australian studio glass. This is a cash prize of $5,000.
Criteria for entered works are that they must be:
the artist’s original work,
predominantly made from glass, and
made within the 18 months prior to the closing date for applications.
The Prize is peer-selected, voted by Ausglass members in conjunction with the Ausglass biennial conference. The Prize is awarded on the basis of the highest number of votes cast for each work.
