Agents of incongruity: glassmaking embraces nonsense to navigate monsters, wonders and dread by Tom Moore
This practice-led research utilises specialized glassmaking techniques to produce objects exploring the themes of nonsense, monsters, wonder and dread. These objects are intended to celebrate innovative and joyful uses of blown glass and invigorate contemporary practice by adopting novel technical and thematic influences that expand the communicative potential of this material process. The research also attempts to come to terms with the problem that glassmaking contributes to complex and troubling global challenges such as climate-change.
